A year ago on the 13th July Oscar was born. Little did we know he would change our lives forever in a way we'd never imagined. The same day Oscar too his last breath. Still to this day we grieve the loss of our son, but continue his legacy through supporting other parents.
In the year since we lost Oscar we have dedicated our lives to Little Wings of Hope ensuring that no parent that loses a baby feels alone. Our mission is to bring some comfort and hope to other families.
In August 2023 we registered Little Wings of Hope as a social enterprise - little did we know the impact and progress we'd make.
In the 11 months since we started we have
Supported 3 loss mums with our online support group
Created a Pregnancy after Loss support group with 5 other mums expecting their babies after loss
Provided two families with getaways after loss
We have donated our Whispers of Love: A Reflection journal to
Ipswich Hospital x 12
Broomfield Hospital x 10
West Suffolk Hospital x 10
Norfolk and Norwich Hospital x 8
Colchester Hospital x 2
Sent our support packs including our bespoke journals, COOK.com vouchers and our tealight holders to 4 families
We are now in the process of creating our workplace training programme for employers and colleagues to support those who return to work following the loss of a baby.
Our work doesn't just stop at supporting other families - we are passionate about advocating for change and thus are part of the All - Party - Parliamentary Group for Baby Loss and part of the Baby Loss Alliance Group. We're dedicated in making a difference through our work but advocating for change in maternity services.
